As a teacher, you set up your students' bank accounts, hand out their bank cards, and run the point-of-sale (POS) register where they spend their Eagle Bucks. You also process transactions like fines and taxes, and approve requests from student bankers. Paydays run on the 15th and 30th of every month — administrators issue the paychecks.
Who signs in where?
You sign in with your school account at the Employee Portal. Students and parents do not sign in there — they use the Student & Parent Portal with a 3-digit code + 4-digit PIN that you give them.
Sign In & Get Your Role
1. Open Academics → Eagle Bank and choose Staff, Admin & Teachers (or go to the Employee Portal under Portals).
2. Sign in with your school email and password. You'll land on the Eagle Bank dashboard.
3. If you see "No Eagle Bank Access," contact your school administrator and ask them to assign you the Teacher role.
Create Accounts — Upload the Roster
The fastest way to create accounts for a whole class is the roster upload:
1. On the Teacher Dashboard, click the Upload Roster tab.
2. Paste one student per line, comma-separated:
First, Last, Grade, Homeroom Teacher, Student Email, Parent Email
e.g. John, Smith, 3, Mrs. Davis, john.smith@amcs.org, parent@example.com
3. Click Create Accounts. The system auto-generates a unique 3-digit code and a random 4-digit PIN for every student.
4. A results table appears showing each student's 3-digit code and PIN. Use Print to print a sheet, then hand each student their card with the code and PIN.
That 3-digit code + 4-digit PIN is the only thing families need to log in to the Student & Parent Portal.
Prefer self-registration? Students can go to the portal and choose Create your code & PIN with their parent — it then goes to the admin's Student Approvals list to be approved before they can log in.
Run the POS Register (Charging Students)
The POS register is where students spend their Eagle Bucks. Click Open POS Register on the Teacher Dashboard (or go to /eagle-bank/pos).
1. Find the student — type the 3-digit code printed on their card (e.g. 114), or search by name.
2. Ring up the purchase — tap a marketplace item (Principal for a Day, Treasure Box, Pencil, Homework Pass…) or, for anything not on the menu, use Custom Purchase to enter an amount and a description.
3. The Eagle Bucks are deducted instantly and the new balance appears. The charge shows in the family's portal history right away.
If a student's balance is too low, the charge is rejected — a great teachable moment about budgeting.
Good Deed Bonuses & Cash Deposits at the POS
From the same POS checkout you can also add money to an account:
- Good Deed Bonus — Reward a student on the spot. Enter an amount and a quick note (e.g., "Helped a classmate"). It posts as a deposit instantly.
- Office Cash Deposit — Record cash a student brought in. Enter the cash amount and click Deposit Eagle Bucks.
Both credit the account immediately and appear in the transaction history for parents to see.
Process a Transaction (Fines, Taxes, Adjustments)
For transactions outside the POS register:
1. On the Teacher Dashboard, use Search Students to find a student by name, grade, homeroom, account number, or card ID.
2. Open the account and use Process Transaction to choose a type (deposit, withdrawal, paycheck, purchase, fine, tax), enter an amount and description, and submit. Teachers post instantly.
Approve Pending Transactions
When a Student Banker (a student MicroSociety job) processes a deposit or withdrawal, it lands as Pending — the balance doesn't change until you approve it.
1. On the Teacher Dashboard, open the Pending tab (a banner appears whenever something is waiting).
2. Review each pending transaction and Approve or Reverse it.
Student check deposits (paycheck photos uploaded from the portal) also appear as pending and are reviewed on the Check Deposits page — verify the photo and amount, then approve to add the Eagle Bucks.
Reversing a Mistake
1. Find the transaction in the student's Transaction History.
2. Click Reverse and type a reason (required — logged in the audit trail).
3. Confirm. A correction entry is created and the balance adjusts back.
Helping Families With Their Login
Students and parents share one login at /student-portal — the 3-digit code + 4-digit PIN you gave them. No school account or email is needed.
- Lost code or PIN? Look up the student's account and reprint the card, or share the code and PIN directly with the parent.
- "Forgot PIN" alert — a parent can tap "Forgot your PIN? Alert your teacher" on the portal; it sends you a reset request you can handle the next day. Only staff can reset a PIN.
Reminders
Paydays are the 15th and 30th — administrators issue paychecks. Teachers approve uploaded paycheck deposits; families then use Pay E$50 Now in the Eagle Bank Portal to pay October rent and utilities by October 7. For access or role issues, contact your school administrator.
