Academics
Our Academics & Curriculum
Atlantic Montessori utilizes the Montessori teaching methodology alongside the B.E.S.T. Standards to provide quality instruction to elementary-level students.
Our curriculum adheres to the teachings of Maria Montessori and her educational philosophy, while also meeting the Broward County School District requirements and the Florida Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.). Academic content includes Montessori-specific subjects and all required learning standards.

Subject Area
Reading & English Language Arts (K–5)
Our literacy block builds strong readers and writers through a research-based core curriculum, supplemented by adaptive digital tools that meet each student at their individual reading level.

Subject Area
Mathematics
Math instruction balances conceptual understanding with procedural fluency, using a standards-aligned core curriculum alongside hands-on Montessori math materials and interactive practice.

Subject Area
Writing
A structured writing curriculum develops students into confident, organized writers across narrative, informational, and opinion genres — with explicit instruction in craft and conventions.

Subject Area
Science
Science comes to life through inquiry-based lessons and hands-on experiments that spark curiosity about the natural world and build critical thinking skills.

Subject Area
Social Studies
Students explore communities, history, geography, and civics — building the knowledge and dispositions of informed, engaged citizens.

Subject Area
Specials (Daily Rotation)
Every student attends one Special area class per day on a five-day rotation. Each Special follows age-appropriate Florida standards and helps develop the whole child — creatively, physically, linguistically, and as digital learners.
IXL — One Platform, Every Subject
We provide every student with a full IXL.com license covering math, reading, writing, Spanish, and more. IXL adapts to each child's level and gives teachers real-time data to guide instruction.
Students will receive their IXL login information on the first day of school.
